The rugby is well set up, with local clubs offering competitive fixtures and proper post-match hospitality. The city’s location also makes it possible to cross into northern France for additional games, giving squads more variety and tougher opposition.

Accommodation is a strong point too. The HI Hostel, right by the beach, is our go-to for groups, while the stylish Upstairs Hotel offers another solid option. Both put you within walking distance of Ostend’s long sandy beach, lined with bars, cafés, and amusements that keep teams entertained between fixtures. Evenings often revolve around squad meals at places like Jillies Burgers & Beers before heading out into Ostend’s lively nightlife.

Off the pitch, there’s plenty to keep groups busy — from day trips to nearby Bruges, to go-kart gaming at Battlekart, or simply kicking back on the beach. Ostend is easy, affordable, and full of energy — a brilliant rugby tour base.
