It's great to be back at Rugby Tours HQ

After 18-months of working in bedrooms and spare rooms across the northeast, it is fantastic to Re-Engage, Re-Engergise & Re-Align the Sky High Sports in our clubhouse at Rugby Tours HQ.

The buzz is back at HQ

Like many businesses, it is the people in it who make ours. Whilst ‘WFH’ was enforced & provided many unforeseen positives and opportunities, having the bustle & craic back in the office is incredible. As a ‘battered’ industry, we’ll have to negotiate our exit from furlough and re-entry into the market carefully, but the support we have seen from our clients, new and old, has been phenomenal & we cannot wait to really get back to full steam.

During covid, we have opened formal operations in London, Toronto & LA. We’ve also welcomed a team of consultants who have increased our knowledge and contacts across the game incredibly.

Brigette Johnston, based in the Netherlands, represents Women’s Rugby on the Rugby Netherlands top table. Working alongside the flying Dutchman Tim Visser,  Brigette will offer great insight and introductions for our Dutch bound tours, but we also look forward to welcoming Dutch clients to these shores in 2022 and beyond. We first met Brigette when she travelled with her own club, RC Bulldogs & have kept in touch ever since. We’re delighted to have her involved!

Nick Scott left his post as RFU Head of Coaching to take up a role as Director of Rugby at Rugby Colorno, a top-tier club based near Parma Italy. A chance meeting with Director Richie on an Italian touchline of a tour game & a good old 1-degree of rugby separation conversation took place and a great relationship was struck. Nick has since moved to the coast for a role with Junior Club Rugby Pesaro, but his dynamic leadership and vision for Rugby has already seen him make an impact on the sport in the country. Nick will consult on all Italian bound tours & ensure that each tour fixture set up will be at the countries most fantastic clubs.

John Fletcher runs the Magic Academy, a coach education company which is transforming how sport is coached. The former Newcastle Falcons DOR and England U18 is also a Tynedale RFC man & was part of the 1st XV when director Richie was a wide eyed water-boy on the touchline. John’s knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for the game & life is simply infectious. He became a huge part of the SHS team during covid through his guidance, motivation and advice & played a huge role in keeping the wheels turning when enthusiasm ‘almost’ left the business during the third lockdown.

Nick Dance joins us as our Asia expert & will be based in Eastern Counties where he heads up the Mini & Youth Section at Cambridge RFC. Nick ran tours across Asia from his Singapore base for some of the biggest sports tour operators for a number of years. His knowledge of the game in Asia is unsurpassed & we look forward to developing our range of long haul tours with Nick’s expert guidance.

The SHS head office is now back open 9-5 Monday to Friday, as is our London operation.
