Sky High Sports Launches Australia & New Zealand Operation

Sky High Sports has launched a dedicated Australia & New Zealand operation, led by Rotorua-born brothers Dion and Mike Miller. This new presence strengthens our support on the ground, adds unique local insight and cultural depth, and helps us deliver the same high standards across two of rugby’s most iconic destinations.

Sky High Sports is proud to announce the launch of our Australia & New Zealand operation — a major step forward in our ambition to become a truly global name in Rugby Tours.

For team leaders in Australia and New Zealand with ambitions of travelling to Europe (and beyond), this launch is about something simple but powerful: working directly with the tour operator delivering your tour.

No white-labelled re-sell products. No paying two agencies to run one tour. Just a direct relationship with the people who design and deliver the experience. That means clearer communication, better alignment with your objectives, heightened control over your experience and a more cost-effective route to an unforgettable rugby tour.

This new operation will be led by Rotorua-born brothers Dion and Mike Miller — rugby people through and through, and two individuals who share the intrinsic values Sky High Sports is built on.

Those shared values include Whanaungatanga — putting relationships first and collaborating with team leaders to build something memorable — and Kaitiakitanga — taking guardianship of every tour we deliver. Our mahi, or work, is detail-led, standards-driven, and built around doing things properly.

Dion Miller, is now based in New South Wales, has built a life in Australia with his wife Alison and their three rugby-mad sons. Dion’s rugby journey spans grassroots to representative environments, combining coaching and administration with a genuine commitment to helping players grow — not just as athletes, but as people. His outlook is captured perfectly in his own words: “Rugby doin’ Rugby things.”

Back home in Rotorua, Mike Miller brings a lifetime in the game, including National Provincial Championship rugby for Bay of Plenty, and club experience in South Africa and the USA. Mike’s passion lies in youth development — supporting rangatahi with programmes, resources, and the right environment to thrive. With deep connections across rugby and tourism in Rotorua, he brings a uniquely local perspective to every tour.

Together, Dion and Mike will also lead the tours Sky High Sports arranges in Australia and New Zealand. This partnership gives us greater control, dynamism and consistency — ensuring the standards we set across our traditional destinations can now be extended to two of rugby’s most iconic countries, with a distinct Australasian flair.

As Richie Gledson, Director of Sky High Sports, puts it: “This is a hugely exciting step forward for us. I first met Dion as a client on tour years ago — that relationship grew into a friendship, and I’m proud to see it evolve into this next chapter. With Mike’s background in performance rugby in New Zealand, we can open up new experiences and raise the bar for teams touring in the region.

More broadly, this is about making touring easier and more direct. The rugby world is more connected than ever — and when teams can work straight with the people delivering the tour, they get more clarity, more control, and better value for money.”

Proud of their Māori heritage, Dion and Mike bring an added layer of authenticity — especially for teams touring New Zealand. It aligns perfectly with the Sky High Sports approach: tours that immerse teams in place, people and culture, not just fixtures and sightseeing.

Dion is also a key figure in the Sydney and New South Wales rugby scene, coaching at the University of Wollongong and heavily involved with Southern Districts in Sydney. Off the pitch, he splits time between family life, his lavender farm, and his industrial flooring business. Mike, based in Rotorua, runs a digital media company specialising in live-streaming rugby and producing live TV broadcasts from across New Zealand.

For team leaders across Australia and New Zealand, this is your direct line to Sky High Sports. If your next goal is a tour to Europe, the USA or beyond, speak with our new whānau — Dion and Mike — and we’ll build a programme that delivers on the rugby and the experience.
