Pro-Coaching Experiences

Learn from the best in the business with our pro-coaching sessions available across an array of our epic rugby destinations.

The Rugby Experience

Beyond the essentials — accommodation, transport, meals, and matches — it’s the finer touches that turn a good rugby tour into a truly unforgettable one. And few things do that better than a Pro Experience, Guest Appearance, or Coaching Session that gives your players the ultimate “wow” moment.

Now, we’ll be honest — not all “pro experiences” are created equal. Too many big clubs slap on a logo, overcharge, and underdeliver. A first-team hoody, a few cones, and some recycled drills don’t cut it. That’s not our style.

At Sky High Sports, we do things differently. We work directly with professional players and top-level coaches, who you can read about here, not through layers of marketing fluff. Alongside our own ambassadors, we’ve built a network of genuine rugby people across our destinations — players who love the game, connect with touring teams, and deliver the kind of sessions that leave a mark.

That said, credit where it’s due — a handful of pro clubs consistently deliver brilliant experiences. Sale Sharks, Bath Rugby, and Worcester Warriors are three of the best, offering hands-on, high-quality sessions that inspire every player who takes part.

Whether it’s a one-on-one clinic, a breakfast Q&A, a pre-match pep talk, or even presenting awards at your end-of-tour court, our pros bring serious experience and serious personality.

All Time Pro-Coaching XV

Sky High Sports have been putting together pro-experiences for teams across the rugby world since the very beginning. See below for our all-time Starting XV selected from all of the great players who have been apart of our tours since 2009.

15. Mils Muliaina

Following his stellar career for the All-Blacks, Mils Muliaina spent time in Europe playing for Connacht & Zebre. It was during his spell at the latter where he crossed paths with our clients from Lamorinda Rugby (USA). Along with ex-Italy Captain Marco Bortolami, the Americans had over 200 International Caps & a World Cup Winner to put them through their paces at the awesome Cittadella del Rugby in Parma.

14. Josua Tuisova

Ashby RFC from Leicestershire toured to Toulon in 2019. They kicked off their trip with a guest session led by ‘The Bulldozer’ himself. Josua is now playing at LOU Rugby in Lyon where we hope to see him on the training paddock in the future.

13. Marcelo Bosch

Back in 2017, we were fortunate to host the San Martin Rugby Club from Buenos Aires on an epic three-week tour of Europe. Following their stay in Ireland and Scotland, the team arrived in London. A highlight was a session at The Allianz with Saracens players Marcelo Bosch & Juan Figallo.

12. Epi Taione

From day one, Epi Taione was an incredible addition to the then fledging team at Sky High Sports. At that stage, Epi was at Racing ’92 in Paris. The Tongan legend was named in the 2007 RWC Team of the Tournament, starred in the film Invictus & post-playing was CEO of Tonga Rugby at the 2015 Rugby World Cup. It was with Epi’s help, we had the opportunity to work with the Tongan National side in 2014 on their Autumn Tour of Europe.

11. Tim Visser

Tim has been part of the Sky High Sports team for nearly ten years. From his days in Edinburgh, Tim has provided some exceptional Coaching Clinics for our touring teams both in Edinburgh & London during his Harlequins days. Even in retirement, Tim continues to be a company ambassador & has given us invaluable support as we arrange Tours to Tim’s homeland of The Netherlands.

10. Owen Farrell

Remaining at Saracens, a fresh-faced Owen Farrell was a very special guest when French side RC Martigues Port du Bouc were in town. Owen stepped into a session on the main pitch at the Allianz much to the delight of the tourists. The U14 team played games at Eton Manor RFC & Old Richians RFC.

9. Faf De Klerk

One of three World Cup Winners in our XV, Faf de Klerk met up with Darlington RFC following their tour fixture against Altrincham Kersal RFC.

8. Eric Millar

The Women’s XV from Sarnia Saints in Canada landed in Dublin in August 2019. At the excellent facilities of UCD, Eric, a former Ireland and British Lion back row forward led the session alongside current Ireland centre Jenny Murphy. One on One coaching with a British Lion? What a way to start a 10-day tour of Ireland!

7. Hamish Watson

Hamish first joined the Sky High Sports team in 2017 & from 2020 will be our Brand Ambassador. One of the most explosive opensides in European Rugby, Hamish is a star of Scottish Rugby & one to watch ahead of the British Lions Tour in 2021. Hamish has guested on numerous sessions in Edinburgh, whether it be full-on training sessions at the the Scottish Rugby Training base at Oriam, running a pre-match warm-up at the venue of your hosts or running a Breakfast Q&A or after-dinner speaking appointment, we’d be delighted to bring Hamish along to feature on your stay in Edinburgh.

6. John Barclay

Former Scotland captain John Barclay stepped in to run a session at Edinburgh Academicals RFC for Canadian school team Owen Sound in 2019.

5. Tamara Taylor

World Cup Winner Tamara Taylor joined the Sky High Sports team in 2019 as we laid the foundations to run the ‘Angels of the North’ Rugby Festival for U13, U15 & U18 Teams over the Easter weekend of 2020. Unfortunately, CV-19 resulted in a delay, but keep posted for an update of when we’ll be running this exciting event in the 2020-2021 Season!

4. Marco Bortolami

Marco Bortolami became the youngest ever Captain of The Azzurri in a stellar career which took him to the top of French & English club rugby. The 2007 6 Nations remains the most successful yet for Italy. Marco has been a phenomenal help to Sky High Sports as we’ve developed out excellent Italian Tours. Should your tickets take you to Treviso, Marco will be available to run a coaching session at the home of Benetton Treviso, a club where he is now Assistant Coach.

3. Paul Wallace

The third British Lion in our XV. Paul was a guest coach for Latymer Upper School who visited Dublin in 2018 on their annual Tour. The 1997 series winner led a scrummaging session for the tourists. Who better than the man who, along with Keith Wood & Tom Smith laid the foundation for the most famous of Lions Series wins.

2. Matthew Rees

Western Washington University from the USA rolled into Cardiff on their UK Tour in 2018. On the morning of their match against Cardiff Met RFC, which was played at the famous Cardiff Arms Park, ex-Wales & British Lion Matthew joined the tourists at breakfast for an incredible talk about his life in Rugby and Q&A.

1. Juan Figallo

We’ve committed a crime against Rugby here. Shoehorning a Tighthead into the #1 shirt will have the rugby scholars squirming, but, we’re yet to have an out and out Loosey guest for us.  That said, we were delighted to see Juan Figallo help with our clients from San Martin Rugby in Buenos Aires. With his team mate Marcelo Bosch, Juan ran the session for his countrymen on the awesome facility at the Allianz.
