Antwerp, in short, is the Amsterdam of Belgium. Hugely popular with our Adult Tourists, the city is definitely one for the nightowl. Not necessarily bad for Youth Teams, but those looking for a quieter weekend should head to Gent, our other Belgian location.
Antwerp has shrugged off its reputation as a purely industrial port city and is now known for its energetic nightlife with an active cultural scene. Antwerp is one of the oldest rugby cities in Belgium with a rich rugby history and has a dense concentration of things to see. Among the beautifully preserved Gothic and Baroque architecture are many churches, museums and galleries.
A lot of Rugby Clubs are in the Antwerp area & with Brussels a short drive away, you'll be spoilt for choice for games.

Antwerp is brilliantly located to achieve a great rugby experience on tour. With an increased importance on league Rugby in both Belgium and over the border into the Netherlands, Antwerp as a base places touring teams brilliantly to play either side of the border, getting the best chance of two games whilst on tour.
With Brussels, Gent, Rotterdam and Eindhoven all in easy reach, the opportunity to play in both countries is huge.
The hospitality in Belgium, and the Netherlands for that matter is outstanding. Much of the history of the game in both countries is centred on playing overseas opposition, so you are often welcomed royally.
For those fortunate to live in the North of England, a short drive East of Newcastle will get you to North Shields Ferry Terminal. From here, DFDS Seaways offer daily overnight crossings to Amsterdam. Often sighted as a real highlight of tours to Northern Europe, the DFDS crossing is superb fun.
You'll spend the night in 2-berth and 4-berth Cabins, enjoy an all-you-can-eat dinner & breakfast, enjoy live Music on the Stage and in the Troubadour bar. It may be the highlight of the tour!
Teams in the South can travel by ferry from Dover to Calais or Dunkirk. A short 90-minute hop over the channel will have you in Belgium in no time at all. Great value for money - the difference in price between staying in the UK & hopping across to Europe is minimal
Flying into Brussels is a good option for most UK and International tourists, however, from some places, it is quite hamstrung.
Flying into Dusseldorf or Amsterdam may result in a journey at the other end, but you will likely have greater flexibility on schedules and prices by doing this.
